We, the undersigned, hereby declare that we desire to form a society under The Societies Act, and that

1. The name of the society is "The Faculty Club of the University of Alberta".

2. The objects of the society are

a. to promote friendship, fellowship and intellectual association amongst members of the University of Alberta staff;

b. to arrange social and recreational activities for members and their guests;

c. to provide a Faculty Club building and other conveniences for the use of members, and to furnish, maintain and expand the same, and to permit it to be used by members and their friends;

d. to employ individuals, firms or corporations to manage or perform, in whole or in part, the operations of a Faculty Club;

e. to purchase, sell, lease, exchange, mortgage, dispose of, turn to account or otherwise deal with the whole of any part of both real and personal property, and rights or interests therein;

f. to borrow money, to make and issue promissory notes, bills of exchange, bonds, debentures and evidences of indebtedness of all kinds, whether secured by mortgage, pledge or otherwise, without limit as to amount, and to secure the same by mortgage, pledge or otherwise.

g. to do all such other acts or things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects or any of them.

3. The operations of the society are to be chiefly carried on in the City of Edmonton in the Province of Alberta.
